The Best Holiday Candles

For the consistent DDR readers, you are most likely already aware of my obsession with candles. I have candles lit throughout my place at all times. Therefore, you can only imagine how many scents and brands I’ve tested. As I stated in a previous post (best candles for summer), my favorite brand has always been Bath & Body Works.

Bath & Body Works candles are the perfect 3-wick candle. Their made using the highest concentration of fragrance oils, an exclusive blend of vegetable wax and wicks that won’t burn out. They melt consistently and evenly, radiating enough fragrance to fill an entire room. And their topped with a silver, flame extinguishing lid. They burn for approximately 25-45 hours and measure 4” wide x 3.5 “ tall. Plus, their constantly having sales, which makes them very affordable.

I love candles because they have the power to completely change the atmosphere of any room. From holiday parties, to cozy nights around the tree, to baking nights with the girls, candles have a way of setting the tone for any particular event. Not to mention, they’re a perfect gift for any girl!

Today, I’ve put together a round-up of my favorite holiday candles!

  1. Sparkling Icicles: let your holiday party sparkle with this bright fragrance of moss, bergamot, and a finishing touch of citrus.
  2. Winter: (my favorite scent of all) Pine needles, icy mandarin, and winter woods capture the magic of glittering icicles and sparkling snow.
  3. Vanilla Bean Noel: a creamy blend of vanilla bean, rich cocoa, and sweet cream, with a touch of caramel and brown sugar.
  4. Jingle All the Way: currently sold out! However, I’ve linked a similar fav!
  5. Salted Caramel: currently sold out! However, I’ve linked a similar fav!

The Best Candles For Summer

Anyone who personally knows me, knows that I’m absolutely OBSESSED with candles. I buy candles in bulk…literally. By adding a candle to a room, you’re able to subtly change the overall dynamic that you’re trying to achieve. For instance, tropical scents tend to create a fun and outgoing vibe. I typically use tropical scents throughout the summer season, when I’m having my girlfriends over for afternoon drinks, or getting together before we head out for a night on the town. Scents such as cookies and cream or vanilla are great for a night in watching movies or reading a good book. Lavender scents are perfect for creating a relaxing atmosphere, while having a nice hot bubble bath.

There are countless different brands of candles that I love, but when it comes down to it my all time favourite are from Bath and Body Works. The reason being that 1. Their affordable and they are constantly having great sales, 2. The scent is ALWAYS strong enough to smell throughout the entire room, and 3. The variety of different scents that are available is incredible. Instead having trouble finding one I like, I have trouble narrowing them down.

I’ve put together a roundup of all of my favorite summer scents from Bath and Body works. You’ll also get a sneak peak of how I’ve styled them throughout my home.

Decorating with Candles

Candles are highly underrated when it comes to home decor. Yes, when the lights go out, they create light. Yes, if you get the right ones, they can smell like heaven. But, they also create romance and a relaxing ethos. No matter where you decide to use candles, they’ll create a warmer, more welcoming environment not only for guests but for yourself too! Cluster them, use a variety of heights, use a variety of scents, use unscented and get some stylish candle holders.

I’ve put together a gallery of different ways to decorate with candles, for some inspiration!

There’s nothing more relaxing than slipping on a cozy sweater and lighting a sweet smelling candle. When falls rolls around, I like to switch out my more summery candles- like citrus and floral scents- for warmer, woodsier options. Checkout the roundup of my favorite fall candles.
