bigleyscottagekitchengiftguide

With Christmas just around the corner, I’ve decided to develop a few shopping gift guides. Whether you’re shopping for your mom, dad, sister, significant other, or even your BFF, within the next week there will be a guide on DDR, that can assist you on your quest!

In this particular guide everything is from Bigley’s Cottage Kitchen and is available for purchase in store and online.

Looking for a small but perfect gift to bring to a dinner party? Check out the Cottage Life Weekend Candles, available in short and large jars. They hand-pour their signature soy/wax blend, and use natural and essential oil fragrances. Plus have multiple scents to choose from! I absolutely love them!

If you’re on the hunt for a perfect gift for mom or dad, I highly suggest looking into the Lotus Grill. The Lotus Grill is a battery powered smokeless charcoal BBQ grill. It has won numerous awards for for its cooking performance, and uses 90% less charcoal then any ordinary charcoal grill on the market. It comes in four different colors- grey, red, yellow, and green, and is available in two different sizes.

Creamy Cozy

Considering that I will be departing back to Miami tomorrow, I wanted to take advantage of this chilly weather while I’m still here. And what better way to do that then go to my best friends cottage, put together a few cozy outfits, and do a few photo shoots!

This faux vest is to die for. It’s by Dex and is relatively affordable considering the amazing quality of it. In order to make this look stand out, I paired it with a cream turtle neck, and accessorized with an olive green cross-body. (Ps. Cream & olive green is one of my favorite color combos this season.) I also showcase a large burgundy tote, to demonstrate a couple of different ways this look can be styled.

15 Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mothers Day is just around the corner (May 10th !), which means its time to start shopping for the perfect gift for mom.

Not only did our moms raise us, she dealt with our fractious teenage years (which often included sleepless nights of ignored phone calls), she endured Disney in all forms just to make us happy, and she has been our most prevalent supporter throughout our toughest times. It’s safe to say she deserves something special on her big day.

I recently did a full tour of Bigley Shoes & Clothing and found countless Mothers Day Gift ideas, so many that it was challenging to include them all. However, I’ve picked a few of my favourites and developed this Mother’s Day Gift Guide, to assist you on your quest.

5 Last Minute Halloween Costumes

If you are someone who finds yourself scrambling to put together a Halloween costume a few days before celebrations begin, then this post is for you. I personally like to plan ahead when it comes to deciding on my costume. Bu that doesn’t mean I haven’t been in a situation where I need a creative costume in a pinch. For a little extra inspiration, take a peek below at these 5 last minute costume ideas…

1. REGINA GEORGE FROM MEAN GIRLS. You probably have every item in your closet already. Just cut two (strategically placed) holes in an old tank top and viola! Bonus points if you can find an “R” necklace.

2. PIPPI LONGSTOCKING. To be Pippi, all you have to do is find the most mismatched things in your closet and throw them together to make one outfit. Stripes, polka dots, and plaid are great for clashing. Then, just take a wire hanger, bend it upward for your pigtails, and se some temporary red hairspray for Pippi’s ‘do. For the finishing touch, dot your nose and cheeks with brown eyeliner to create some fake freckles.

3. MARILYN MONROE. All you really need is a white dress, white pumps, blonde curls, and red lips. Don’t forget her signature beauty mark– use eyeliner to a draw a little black dot at the corner of your lip.

4. NERD. A nerd costume is so easy to put together, and you can make it as feminine or tomboy as you would like (think shorts vs. skirt).

5. TWIGGY. Twiggy is one of my favorite fashion icons, and her look makes for an adorable and easy costume. Grab your favorite shift dress, some statement earrings, and Mary Jane flats. The most important part of this costume is to recreate her signature eyeliner makeup look. Draw on bold lines with liquid eyeliner and draw lashes on your lower lid.
